Here's a timeline of milestones in the development of our company's long-term future.
1968
Construction of the building at 675 Simonds South, Granby, to house Plastalene Inc., founded by Normand Coderre and John Cookes Bonnet. Specializing in plastic sheet extrusion, the company already has six sheet lines.
1977
Purchase of a company in Guelph (Ontario) called “Micro Plastics Canada Limited”, manufacturer of plastic profiles.
1978
Some of Guelph's profile machines are brought back to Granby under Plastalene's facilities.
1979
The operations of ''Micro Plastics Canada Limited'' are completely transferred to Granby. Plastalene now has a profile department with six sheet lines.
1987
Construction of a 2ᵉ factory in Cornwall, Ontario for Plastalene, ''Plastalene Ontario Inc.'' with five new plastic sheet extrusion lines.
1992
Plastalene is sold to the Hamelin Group. Mr. John Cookes Bonnet leaves the companies. Mr. Normand Coderre keeps his plastic profile department and translates the English name of “Micro Plastics Canada Limited” for Extrusions de Plastique Micro Inc. in order to respect the francization of names in Quebec. He starts up this Granby-based company at 675 Simonds South, producing only profiles.
1995
He launches a new product, the Lumber patio board.
2000
We're back to sheet extrusion.
2003
Two new departments make their appearance: laminating and corrugated sheet.
2005
Normand Coderre and his son José are the only two shareholders in Micro Plastique.
2009
José's brother François Coderre joins them as a shareholder.
2010
A new product: Synthetic ice developed by the Coderre brothers.
2017
The arrival of the 3ᵉ generation, José Coderre's children, as the current succession. Katherine Coderre, Charles Coderre, Vanessa Coderre and Julien Larouche (Katherine's husband).
2018
Transfer of laminating operations to another Granby building, 395 Saint-Vallier, purchased the same year by the two Coderre brothers.
2019
Founder Normand Coderre dies.
2024
Two factories, totaling 100,000 square feet, located in Granby's industrial park. A 3ᵉ generation still in training today.
